Prairie Sun Rudbeckia

Prairie Sun Rudbeckia

$4.00

(Rudbeckia hirta)

This is easily the most cheerful looking black-eyed Susan variety that we have grown. There are so many things to love about this radiant plant: It’s a prolific bloomer, a great cut flower, is adored by pollinators, and can be used to get a deep golden yellow dye on natural fibers. We plan on growing this variety year after year.

Seeds require light for germination, so sprinkle seeds on the soil’s surface. You can start them indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost, or direct sow them around the time of your last frost. Germination occurs between 8-20 days. Ours were planted with 12” spacing, but we think they would appreciate a little more room. Plants get up to 3’ tall.
