(Daucus carota subsp. sativus)

Classic orange heirloom carrot developed in Danvers, Massachusetts in the 1880s. This sweet variety does great in winter storage, is excellent raw, and also holds up well when cooked (doesn’t get mushy). Average root size is 6”-8”, and this carrot does well in most soil types, including clay. Plant seeds throughout the growing season. Carrots often germinate unevenly over 1 to 3 weeks, so make sure to keep your soil moist during that window.
