What do you get when you cross a genetically diverse kale mix (Wild Garden Kale Mix) to an extremely cold-hardy kale mix (Western Front Kale)? You get WILD WEST KALE! We actively rogued out under-performing plants and let our winter make the final selections. This mix has a variety of kale shapes, but the majority of them are in the Red Russian vein.

Kale tastes best after a few light frosts, so we like to direct seed ours at the end of July or early August and start harvesting in mid-October. If you are wanting baby kale for salads or micro-greens, you can sow throughout the season.
